Drivers How We Operate
"It's the little things that matter, making all the difference in the service we provide."
Importance Of Rest
At Energy Line, we understand the importance of rest. That’s why we don’t require check-ins just hours before a shift. We know how valuable those extra hours of sleep are, especially during the busy season, and we want you to be as well-rested as possible.
We provide your load details the day before, so you can plan ahead.
Additionally, for those looking for extra work, when possible, we offer a list of available loads for volunteers. If you prefer to pass on overtime, no problem! Loads will be shared fairly to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity when extra work is available.
Importance of Truck & Trailer Pairing
The trucks are each paired with their own trailer, allowing drivers to become very familiar with their assigned equipment. This setup helps avoid the inconvenience of repeatedly dropping and hooking trailers. Having a dedicated truck and trailer also means:
- When loading or unloading at a refinery, drivers don’t need to adjust their parking technique each time since they’re always handling the same truck and trailer, ensuring consistent loading dynamics.
- There's no need to remember to print out registration or the hazmat moving permit.
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections run smoothly because drivers are familiar with their assigned equipment. This helps avoid violations on your pull notice when you're called for inspection at the CHP scale house.
- "Each set of tools is stored in its own numbered bag assigned to a specific truck and is part of the pre-trip requirements, making it easy to track and manage tool loss prevention.
- Personal items, such as gloves, flashlights, and PPE, are kept with the assigned truck, reducing the risk of misplacement or forgetting essential tools at the last minute. This system minimizes the need to contact management about missing tools or items, ensuring drivers always have the necessary equipment on hand."
- "This means you'll effortlessly keep track of expiring documents in your DOT Binder and, without even trying, you'll memorize important details like the truck and trailer license plate numbers, as well as the PI, VK, and DIS numbers on the trailer."
Dispatch
Additionally, there’s no need to call dispatch for your loading ticket number. Your number will be provided with the load information a day in advance; we just require that you let us know if you won't be able to make the load for any reason so we can assign it to another driver. whenever possible If there is no work, you will informed ahead of time so you can plan and enjoy your day off.
